I had one of these I bought from Macy's probably 20 years ago and got rid of it in a cross country move. I tried to find a replacement for it for many years with no luck - until now! I love this thing! It is built perfectly for me! It's low impact, stores away when you need it (I would suggest using a friend for that - the foot pedals can be a little unwieldy to move) and can really give you a good cardio workout without much effort.
I would use CAUTION when first using this machine - the only thing keeping the user upright on it is the user! It is easy to fly backward on it if you are not paying attention! When you do use it, it engages your core and helps with balance. Once you get the hang of it you can bend your knees and really push your body with your thighs and glutes! Raise your arms above your head with light free weights and get your arm workout while your core maintains your balance and your hips twist gliding your legs! Or, keep your legs planted and push them using your arms for another upper body workout!
I am so thrilled I took a chance when I saw this model! It has much more diverse capabilities than the name brand "glider" and I've missed it for the last 8 years! Watching tv and getting a half hour in the morning and a half hour in the evening in on this thing really GLIDES by!
I'm 5' 5" and my husband is 5' 10" tall and the range of glide for both of us is plenty adequate. If you have very long legs this might not be as dynamic for you.
