Hi, yes.this bamboo shoe bench is good to strore towels. I also sit on the top of it. It is sturdy. I would think it would be fine in an enclosed screened porch.
If I come in with wet clothes to change my shoes will I ruin it?

If ots a quick change. I don't believe you would. Iv used mine for a while now and its perfect for our space. Iv never left wet clothes or items on it for long cause wet ruins most things but a quick sit and change no I dont think so.
